Douglas Martin

Douglas has been involved in commercial property since 1970. He entered the development industry in 1980.

Initially responsible for running the development arm of Trafalgar House in Scotland through the 1980s, the portfolio of work he was responsible for covered shopping centres, supermarkets and office blocks.

In 1990, Douglas set up Gryffe Development Ltd, which concentrated on providing development advice to corporate and private clients across the development spectrum.

Clients such as Safeway (now Morrisons), Tesco, Gala Bingo, Royal Dornoch Golf Club amongst others have benefitted from Gryffe’s commercial development expertise.

On a residential front, Gryffe has carried out direct development projects as well as advising others on the process from conception through to delivery, in both individual energy efficient houses to prestigious multi-million pound developments such as Avenel. At the start of 2012, the business was rebranded as DM Land Consulting.
